No Air Freight Policy

Essential Trading Cooperative never imports commodities using air freight. We import commodities from around the world via cargo vessel only. We recognise the environmental impact of air freight, in comparison with sea freight. The former has a much larger impact. On average, goods that are transported by modern cargo aircraft will emit 500g of CO2 for every kilometre flown. In comparison, shipped cargo reduces the emission to 15g CO2 for every kilometre voyaged.
